Al Murabba Historical Palace and National Museum

About 100 years ago, King Abdulaziz, may God have mercy on him, ordered the construction of Al Murabba Palace about 2 km north of old Riyadh. It became the main residence for him and his family and the main seat of government. The palace was built in authentic Najdi architectural style and contains about 32 rooms across two floors, in addition to guest reception majlis rooms and various administrative offices. It officially opened in 1350 AH / 1932 CE. Today, the palace complex includes several major buildings and facilities, including the Saudi National Museum, opened in 1419 AH / 1998 CE, which contains around 3,700 authentic heritage pieces, manuscripts, and sculptures explaining the history, geography, and heritage of Saudi Arabia over about 3,000 years.
